Hello, well as if the fab weekend wasn’t over so quickly! And also is it seriously STILL January?- this month is going on forever! Although I’m sure that when we get into February I’ll be moaning that month is going way too fast, forever the indisicive girl.

So another week has been and gone, and that week was long! But in between the storms, the power cuts and the nearly falling asleep at my desk during the working week, I somehow survived all of it! Winning at life right now.

So as we have established the week was long, and just so draining. And main reason behind that was Hunter. I have always prided lifestylelisa as being as honest as possible when it comes to what I write and share in my posts. So taking the rough and tough with the smooth the reason why last week was so difficult and draining is because Hunter my lively 4 year old Hungarian Vizsla is going through an awkward phase, and trying to get to the root of the issue is proving a problem. Hunter is lively and friendly and so so affectionate and I absolutely love him for it. But his behaviour over the last year and especially over the last few months has made me question whether Luke and I are really the right owners for him, and maybe that somehow we had failed him. It’s been an emotional roller coaster feeling torn between absolutely loving Hunter and wanting what’s best for him. Of course I always knew that re-homing him was never ever really on cards even if I did wonder if it might be best for him. I mean honestly no one on earth loves my dog as much as Luke and I, Hunter is our entire world. But behaviour wise we have been having issues that are getting harder and harder to ignore. So on Sunday we took the plunge and had a lovely dog behavioural expert come round and asses Hunter and more importantly us to see where it’s gone/going wrong and what we can do to rectify the situation before it gets too out of control. So the meeting took place on (Sunday) at our house and it was informative and thorough, and although we have a long way to go, Luke & I have a number of things to work on and I am feeling very positive that by the summer we could potentially have really turned things around (here’s hoping)

The behavioural expert confirmed something that I really had wondered lately and that was just how much Hunter loves us. And deep down of course I knew that, but hearing it from someone with so much knowledge, hearing her say that he loves us so much, and in return we have over loved him (which is why he’s a little messed up) did actually mean the world to me. She also confirmed that he is the sweetest boy, and is so willing and ready to learn, and honestly I couldn’t be more thankful that we contacted her, and I couldn’t love my fury ginger little bear anymore than I do.

So whilst last week may have been a bit up an down I am hoping that this week will be so much better.

This will now be my last blog post until the middle of February as I am off on a brand new journey with my husband and will be making more amazing memories. Of course I am already getting tearful about missing Hunter but once again mum and dad to the rescue as they will be looking after him and the house whilst we are gone. And I know Hunter will be well loved and looked after, and although I will be enjoying my holiday I will also be looking forward to that big hug and wet kick from Hunter when I return.

A weekend is like a reset button for your soul – press it, and you’ll find yourself in the happiness of everyday life.

Oh weekends, don’t you honestly just love them? Once Thursday comes around I know that I am one step closer to the magic of the weekend, and that right there is happiness.

After the really (really, really) long week I was more than ready for the weekend and to hit that reset button. Friday simply couldn’t come quick enough for this weekend loving girl!

For me it was a really up and down week, trying to maintain this positive, nothing can get me down attitude is really tough when you feel like different things come along and just slap you in the face! And honestly there were like 3 different things that slapped me right in the face last week and left me with lots of questions. I am slowly trying navigating the art of stepping back taking a moment and just breathing, before reassessing the situation, instead of bulldozing right on in there (like 2023 Lisa would have) Although there are some things and situations that are harder to digest than others.

Anyways back to the weekend (that went by way too fast) It was nice to wake up on Saturday after a little lay in and have a relaxed morning getting ready, and equally it was so nice to actually do my hair and do my makeup. I really do lack effort during the working week as everyday involves 3 dog walks rain or shine, so it’s far easier embrace the messy bun look for the majority of the week.

Saturday was a wonderful day well spent in a very chilly London. Luke and I had tickets for Cirque Du Soleil’s Alegria at the Royal Albert Hall, and when I say I was beyond excited, I truly mean it. Alegria was the first Cirque show that I ever saw as a little girl, and that is where my love for cirque started. I have now seen many of Cirque du Soleil’s wonderful shows, though Alegria has been and still remains my favourite which I have now seen 7 times to date. So the fact that not only was this show back touring, and was finally in London but I would be front row watching it again for the first time in 11 years. It was kind of a really special moment for me. And the show – was everything, 11 years after I last saw it, it still has my whole heart.

Sunday was a day with no initial plans, but not wanting to chill about all day I decided that we needed to get dressed and get outside with Hunter.

I love dedicating days to Hunter where we head on out into the fresh air and let him burn off as much energy as possible. It was a chilly day but a lovely dry day, which are the best. Hunter was living his best life, sniffing every single blade of grass, and happily saying hello to other dogs. Luke and I got our steps in, and burnt some calories, it was nice to blow away some cobwebs and clear the mind.

But weekends end far too soon and Mondays come around far too quickly. Which means the countdown to the next weekend starts right now.

Have a great week

Hello, and happy Monday – and to be fair it’s not that I truly believe that Mondays are happy but I’m really working on this upbeat attitude, which in return means I have to ignore the fact that after being up for just an hour and I am tired!

I have to say it was fabulous to hit the weekend after just 4 days of work, honestly by Wednesday (yes just 2 days into my working week) my eyelids felt heavier than a tonne of sand, and I may have quite possibly fallen asleep at at my desk at some point – who knows?

The dark nights and mornings are not helping, and even though I am an autumn/winter girl (have I mentioned that before?) Even I am kind of over the wet cold weather now, but as always if you want to throw a little sun and some Jack Frost my way, I am all over it.

To be honest the working wasn’t actually too bad, but the 5am get up’s did take its toll though, which was why I couldn’t wait for the beautiful weekend to arrive.

So one week into January already, I’m thinking this month is going to go super fast, like always. But so far one week in and I’m enjoying it. I’m feeling optimistic, and am so far sticking to my New Years promise’s which if you haven’t read my previous blog post I spoke all about (don’t worry click the link and you can catch up in no time) I mean okay yes we are only one week in so technically next week I might have a different view on things!

Starting off the month being as productive as possible I have jumped back on the healthy eating wagon (although to be honest I have lost count on the amount of times I’ve fallen off that wagon) I also attended a new course and learnt (well am learning) another new skill (another string to my bow)

I am also seriously trying to be more proactive at the weekends (well aware we are one weekend into the month) but I’m trying to start the year as I mean to go on… So Saturday afternoon I headed off to the shopping outlet for a skating session. It’s a temporary rink, that was for the November, December and start of January period. It’s sadly now gone, but I got to enjoy a few sessions just skating around minding my own business. Sunday I dedicated to my little ginger roo Hunter by hiring out a dog walking field for an hour so he could run around and burn off some energy, which meant that Sunday afternoon he was one snoozy cuddly dog – just perfect.

Throw in the usual clean the house, make sure all the Christmas decorations were down (which makes my house look huge, but is oh so sad to not have my pretty tree sparkling in my bay window) There was also a basket full of laundry to be done and then a few meal preps, a few skinny hot chocolates, some okay movies, and a lovely Sunday lay in. And that is how I rolled this weekend, and I loved every single second of it.

Now for a whole week of work – kind of difficult when I struggled with a 4 day week, but anyways, I’m sort of ready to take on the week and basically count down to that sweet sweet weekend, where I get to spend the day with Luke in London and I can’t wait.

Have a great week

This is a New Year https://lifestylelisa.com/2023/12/31/this-is-the-new-year/ Sun, 31 Dec 2023 00:44:50 +0000 https://lifestylelisa.com/?p=13635 New Dreams, New Days, New Desires, New Ways

I really couldn’t start this post off any other way than by saying HAPPY NEW YEAR! Here we all find our selves in 2024 with 365 days to make our own, and let me tell you, I am all here for that.

Okay, let’s get the sad bit out of the way first, can we just take a moment to discuss how quickly Christmas arrived and went? It took me a while to find my festive spirit, and I think I finally found when Luke took me on a festive date day to London in mid December. But no sooner had I found said spirit Christmas arrived and then it left. For me the build up and Christmas Eve are always far better and if you will magical than Christmas itself. Which isn’t to say that I don’t enjoy or even love Christmas Day because I absolutely do, and Christmas presents are just a great big bonus. It’s just that magical excited feeling happens for me in the build up.

The season however was pretty busy as I made my way through 30 Christmas movies and lost count of how many hallmark channel movies I watched, actually some of them were really good, others not so much. But Hallmark Christmas seems to be my new thing! I also spent an entire December listening to Christmas tunes – because who doesn’t right?

As well as watching a million movies and listening to Christmas tunes I also had an amazing Christmas date day in London, went to Holkham Christmas market in Norfolk and managed to fit in a few ice skating sessions.

But now here we are, Monday the 1st of January 2024 (which now means there is less than 365 days until Christmas, but who’s counting right?)

I have spent many firsts of many new years with a list of “resolutions” of things that I’m going to do, that I’m not going to do, things that I’m going to change, things that go I want to achieve and accomplish. This year however I’ve decided to not do that list, because truly I never ever stick to it anyways. Instead I am going into the new year with a promise to myself, a promise that I will –

Try my hardest at whatever I do

Try to not be so hard on myself

Try to embrace every new day and not take anything or anyone for granted

Try to find that buried self confidence that I always seem to lack

Try to always look on the bright side

Enjoy life

Travel

Live

Love

Be me, be myself, I’m not perfect but who is? And just throw myself into this brand new year

I really don’t want to hear anyone’s issues & I won’t be sharing mine. I only have room for genuine love & I’m forever choosing who chooses me.

Happy new year – let’s make it a good one

This week is long (although yes technically it’s the same length as any other working work) it just seems longer and slower than last week (and that was a struggle) So instead of thinking about how tired I am, let’s throw it back to last Saturday – impromptu date day (afternoon)

I have now happily been living the married life for about 18 months. And honestly it’s bliss, and I love being Mrs Kendal and being married to my best friend. But enough with mushy chat, because even though I am happily married i am still a firm believer of working at a marriage and not taking each other for granted.

It’s still so so important to do the little things together – go out on dates, cook together, watch a movie together, put your phones away and actually be in each other’s company. With both Luke & I leading very busy lives we have to find time to do all the small things in life, which is why I implemented a monthly date day/date weekend. Now in all honesty in May & June this kind of went out of the window, but I was determined to get one in for July! And so last Saturday we took an unplanned and very impromptu trip into Maldon, which is about a 20(ish) minute drive from us. It was a last minute decision that we semi planned whilst sitting there eating our morning porridge.

Since Hunter came along and settled into our home impromptu trips are rare, we don’t really like leaving him for too long but have come to the conclusion that he will be okay and survive without human contact for up to 4 hours. So for that reason unless we get a dog sitter (hello mum & dad) we can’t really travel too far for little day trips. Which meant Maldon was perfect for a few hours.

The sun was shining, it was pretty warm, and although we had no exact plans I was happy just to wing it, and enjoy being out of the house on a Saturday for a few hours.

Maldon is actually one of the oldest recorded towns in Essex and many of the buildings brick facades conceal medieval timber frames. I love the fact it’s so steeped in history and is literally on my doorstep (almost!)

As I mentioned previously we had no plans and hadn’t booked anywhere to stop and eat, although Luke was keen to try and get in an afternoon tea. Unfortunately booking for any afternoon tea in Maldon is essential so there was no jam and scones on the menu for us.

We did find a cute little pub down by the estuary called Fish on the Quay, and it was pure bliss to enjoy a couple of drinks sitting outside watching the world lazily go by. I am absolutely here for days just like that. And I don’t know about anyone else, but I just find something completely calming and peaceful about being near the water surrounded by boats.

Unfortunately our chill time was interrupted by a sudden downpour, which meant our initial plan of walking around the estuary and heading into Heybridge needed to be changed. Because as much as “dancing in the rain” sounds semi appealing in a romantic movie kind of way. On this particular Saturday it wasn’t the vibe I was going for. So instead Luke had his eye on the grabbing a waffle from The waffle bar which he had clocked when we were browsing the high street earlier. And who am I to deny my husband a waffle! Actually what a great little find the waffle bar was for a little sweet treat, that’s big enough to share.

As this was a very impromptu last minute date afternoon and Hunter was home alone (albeit for 4 hours) but any longer and I’m sure a meltdown (from him) would soon erupt! Luke & I decided to finish up the shared waffle and head home to spend some time playing around in the garden with a very excitable 3 and half year old vizsla. The pup with the tail that never stops wagging. Safe to say he was super happy to have us back home, and our little family was once again complete.

Happy Friday! (Fri-yay, nearly the weekend day, you’ve made it to the end of the week day) whatever you like to call it, Friday is officially my favourite day of the week! And I do like to congratulate myself on making it through a whole week of work, which because of all the bank holidays we’ve had, I’m really not used to!!

This weekend happens to be the first in two that I haven’t been away! The weekend before last I was in Marbella for my sisters hen do, and last weekend Luke was away in Benidorm on a stag weekend, so I packed up my car and Hunter and we headed to my parents to spend time with them, which is far better than being home alone. So I guess you could say I’m really excited about being home for the entire weekend!

Two long lay-ins are an essential must for both Saturday and Sunday, but Luke and I are also dedicating this weekend to doing “bits around the house!” You know the odd jobs that really need doing like putting the cases in the loft, tidying out the utility room. On top of the odd jobs we are also going to get out in the garden and make it look …. Semi decent! The garden in my house has been the bain of my life since we moved in over 4 years ago! I won’t bore you with it, because to be honest it even bores me BUT in a nutshell the foundations were wrong and it’s caused problem after problem since 2019. It’s such a sorry sight that I decided it really does need some TLC! So I’m going to head to the garden centre Saturday and pick up some nice plants and shrubs and see if we can bring the back garden to life a little!

My evening plans for the weekend will include making a delicious (hopefully) Thai inspired coconut curry (healthy of course) and if I can’t find something decent to watch on one of the many channels that we have at home then I am going to binge watch season 2 of succession! Yes I am well aware that I am late to the party with this one BUT my sister recommended it ages ago and it has only been in the last few weeks that I have watched it and have really gotten into it!

Life has really gotten busy lately and it’s only going to get busier from here! And whilst I am so here for it, I cannot wait for a bit of down time, starting in just over 30 minutes!!!!!! Today work can’t finish soon enough!

Have a great weekend!!

In my opinion there is nothing better than finishing work on a Friday, getting in the car and heading away for a short weekend break. It doesn’t matter where, I just love being away.

Last weekend Luke & I packed our bags and headed off to Horning in Norfolk for a Friday to Sunday short break. Norfolk holds a very special place in my heart as it is of course the county where Luke & I got married back in January of this year, so it always feels special being there. And as an added bonus Lukes parents have a house on the Norfolk boards so we don’t even need to find accommodation when we go, super lucky.

Getting out of Essex if only for 48 hours (actually slightly less) is a wonderful feeling, no housework or cooking, and this particular weekend no Hunter. Although honestly I really missed him, I’ve come to the realisation that I don’t like being away from him, not ideal when you have a honeymoon fast approaching!

It takes just under 2 hours to get to Horning from Essex, and once I got my pumpkin spice frappe from Starbucks I was pretty content with chilling out and enjoying the ride. We usually listen to a mix of songs while travelling anywhere, but of course with the recent sad announcement of the Queens passing we had the news on the radio for the entire journey.

We arrived at our destination just after 9pm and stepping out of the car I was all smiles, as the air was fresh and it felt so autumnal, and in case I hadn’t ever mentioned it before I LOVE AUTUMN!

After an amazing nights sleep, I woke up on Saturday and was desperate to head into Great Yarmouth. I don’t know why, it’s just somewhere I haven’t been for years, so while in Norfolk why not?!

Yarmouth is just that classic, classic seaside town, full of all everything I just love to see! Cafés, candy floss, fish and chips, ice cream, sweet treats, sticks of rock, seafood, amusement arcades, funfair’s, and yes, I even found a Starbucks (Pumpkin spice frappe, please!) And then we found a crazy golf! And since Luke thinks he’s the Tiger Woods (literally the only golfing player I know) of crazy golf we just had to play!! I admit golf is that sport I’ve never been bothered to watch, or understand. A game of the crazy variety is fine, although it will come as no surprise when I say that I’m not very good at it! My tactic is to just hit the ball as hard as I can, keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best (is that not what pro golfers do then?!) After a few rubbish shots from me, Luke then turns into Tiger Woods golfing coach and starts giving me pointers (because he had golf lessons when he was like 5, and IS a pro – Love you Luke incase you’re reading this, which to be fair you should be!) Anyways so Luke is giving me these pointers and I am actually listening and as it would turn out taking all that information in, because from then on I was pretty decent! Not pro decent obviously, although pretty close if you ask me. But in all seriousness there was a vast improvement! Angling, balls, swinging, it might sound like something you’d read in 50 shades, but it turns out that’s all I needed to remember whilst on the 18 hole pirate course! And it was fun, I still lost, but I had fun, and lost by 5 silly points, who’s counting anyways!!

After golf was finished Luke & I found ourselves walking along the seafront, smelling the delicious smells coming from the food stalls. We walked for miles, just chilling, walking and talking, and just being out in the fresh air which is always just the best thing.

When Sunday arrived I woke up after a wonderful 10 hours and 47 minutes sleep, I felt so refreshed and energised. The sun was shining, breakfast was calling my name and as sad as I was to leave the beautiful peaceful village of Horning I am always so pleased to get on the road and get back home to pick up Hunter (who I missed a lot!)

Before we started the journey back to Essex we made a planed scheduled stop at Wroxham Barns. This was purely so I could pet and feed all the animals in the affection section (not sure if it’s called affection section but at Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World it is!) So for those of you who are new to the blog, I LOVE animals! I love them, I want to keep all of them, I’d own a farm if I could, I don’t eat meat, I am just here for the animals!!! From chickens to elephants, I love them all. So naturally stopping at the barns to pet the goats, sheep, Alpaca’s, rabbits and chickens was always going to put the biggest smile of my face! I’ve only been to Wroxham barns once before way back in 2018, and it has been on my list to go back for a while! It’s literally the cutest place I know, not only are there of course animals, they also have little shops (including a delicious fudge shop) and a tea room. We didn’t spend too long here, just enough time for me to feed all the animals twice, because as Luke knows very well the saying goes “happy wife, happy life”. We also fitted in a quick sandwich before we left Norfolk and headed back to Essex. The ONLY criticism I have regarding Wroxham barns is it’s VERY kid oriented, it’s like you kind of look & feel out of place because you don’t have any children. Not that I would ever let something like that bother me, you can’t help but to notice it. Which makes me wonder why most things seem to be only for couples with children, especially in this day and age. For example Luke and I were not permitted to pick our own potato’s whilst at the barn, because this is only available to juniors, and not paying adults. And okay to be fair it didn’t bother me that I couldn’t pick potatoes, it was odd that we were told we couldn’t even though we had paid full price to visit. Even so I enjoyed my time, and would definitely return for another visit.

All in all 48 hours in Norfolk was good!!

I’ll firstly start this post by saying I am a good week late getting it written up. So it’s kind of a let’s rewind back to Saturday July 23rd, and my trip to London.

I LOVE London, I love the hustle & bustle, the diversity, the quirky vibes & of course the sites.

In London everyone is different, and that means anyone can fit in, and I love that.

So here we go -London!!

Alarm set for 07.30am on a SATURDAY! Seriously a Saturday wake up call WHAT! I like to usually reserve weekends for lay-in’s, but not today, as I was heading into London! So early am wake up call it was!

First on the agenda – shower! A hot, hot shower, and hair wash. It’s kind of a good way to start any day.

It’s like I say – Wake up and makeup, and that’s exactly what I did next. Never fully complete without my makeup applied.

Makeup applied, time for breakfast, and call it boring all you want, but for me it has to be porridge with almond (or coconut) milk. Oh and let’s not forget the cup of tea I HAVE to have a cup of tea!

Breakfast done, it was time to get ready! And for my London trip I decided to wear a jumpsuit purchased from asos. It’s definitely a recycled item of clothing as I purchased this jump back in 2018! But it’s cute, comfy and really cool (not like I’m cool) but the material is literally so thin that it’s perfect to wear when it’s hot! Whilst clothes and shoes are usually from asos or boohoo or something similar, bags are always designer. I just have a thing for designer bags, so took the Gucci with me on my trip to London.

Yes there is ALWAYS time for a Starbucks! Almond milk coffee frappe!!! Thank you!

Parking up in Stratford (at Luke’s work) it was then off to the underground! I love travelling on the underground with Luke as he seems to know it like the back of his hand! I mean honestly I look at an underground map and am instantly lost!

I mean when isn’t there time for a selfie? There’s ALWAYS time for a selfie! And this particular one was taken in Harvey Nichols, on the escalator – of course…. We only popped in here briefly for Luke to pick up his signature aftershave, that you can only buy in Harvey Nichols or Harrods (of course!)

2pm – lunch time! But where to eat? Oh decisions, decisions! WAIT when in London…… Burger & Lobster lobster roll!!! Yes please!!

Wait, we took 2 selfies? Clearly I wasn’t content with just taking one!

So Be at one had a 2 for one offer on cocktails and we had time to spare, so I took 2 of the mango slushy cocktails. Hey it didn’t rock my world, but it was certainly refreshing in the London heat!

Whilst sitting there sipping cocktails (such sophistication) Luke (with his eagle eye) had spotted a few people enjoying what looked like really (really) delicious ice cream. A quick Google later (by Luke) we finished our cocktails and made our way to 30 great windmill street where we found Bilmonte. I mean I knew the ice cream was going to be great as there was a queue going out of the door! And it certainly didn’t disappoint, it was DELICIOUS, and I highly recommend.

Wanting to walk off the ice cream, because I know my limitations, and I definitely crossed the line with this bad boy (no regrets, no regrets, no regrets) We made our way to China town, and found a shop where I could stock up on mouchi’s and tapioca pearls. And then walking on a bit further I found wholefoods, which my sister had told me about. Of course I had to go in and see what else I could pick up! And they had so much flour!! And I love different flour (oat, almond, coconut) so I was in my element!

FINALLY it was time – this is what we came to London for, Moulin Rouge! I had been waiting since January to watch this, so you can imagine how excited I was that the day was finally here! The show was insane, it was brilliant, dazzling, all singing all dancing and it was just pure perfection! I mean I am a massive Bat out of hell the musical fan, but I’ll tell you it’s very close between the 2 shows and which one is my favourite. Being a lover of musicals I have come to realise (only since becoming a Bat fan) that each musical/Westend show has their very own dedicated group of super fans, who will watch the show over and over, sometimes more than once a week. I mean I remember thinking I was a dedicated Bat out hell fan because I had seen it 7 times, but nope that would be the lady who sat in front of me when I last saw the show back in January who had watched the show 30 something times! I mean WOW that’s dedication and I applaud her! So I wasn’t actually surprised when I over heard a loud conversation between a mother and daughter about this being their 10th time watching the show! I mean they obviously wanted to announce it as they said it quite loud, but I couldn’t be too annoyed as the daughter had earlier commented on the jumpsuit I was wearing and how much she liked it! I even let it slide when she called it a playsuit, and didn’t correct her. Also as with most musicals the dedicated fans do like to dress for the occasion, so I did see some corsets, a lot of red and black and some feather boers. Well good for them!

Amazing show finished (sad face, I didn’t want it to end) It was now time make our way back to Stratford car park. That is actually the thing I dislike the most about having a fun, fabulous day out in London is the journey across London when you’re tired and you’re feet hurt. Luckily the underground was fairly quiet and I managed to get a seat (winning at life) then Luke saved the day and got us an Uber from Westfield’s back to the car park (he’s a keeper for sure!)

A 40 minute car journey later and I was home and so ready for bed. Alarm off, I was looking forward to sleep and a lazy lay in.

FRIDAY! It’s actually Friday, the word Friday is just music to my ears, it’s a beautiful word!! And not only is it Friday it’s another LONG WEEKEND! Oh thank you lord for UK bank holiday’s and to be honest I don’t even know WHY we have bank holidays, but boy am I super thankful for them!

Since getting married to Luke in January of this year I feel like we/I’ve been swept up in a tornado of being extremely busy, having a million things to do around the house, vlog with my sister, maintaining my blog site, working full time, fitting in clients for lashes, trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle, cooking, cleaning and being a dog Mum to Hunter (phew!) think that’s everything! Sometimes I have so much going on that I forget to take a step back and just BREATH!

This long weekend I am heading out of Essex to breath in some fresh Norfolk air, and honestly, I can’t wait!! We are staying at Luke’s parents boat house which is situated in Horning, which is super pretty and chilled, and I am definitely here for chilled!

We’re heading away as soon as the clock hits 5.30pm on Friday, so I will most definitely be counting down!

I may only be away for a few days, but seriously I just can’t wait!

Just 4 hours & 30 minutes to go until I clock off, still enough time for a few more cups of coffee to keep me going!!

Have a great weekend

Hello Saturday,

I love you Saturday (and weekends in general to be fair!) The week has been long and the 5am Monday-Wednesday wake up calls are seriously starting to take its toll! So naturally I LIVE for long lazy chilled weekends.

And Saturday’s like this one 12/2/22

10.30am – YEP I woke up at 10.30 this morning, and it was the BEST FEELING EVER!! Luke was awake before me and just laying there because somehow I had moved around a lot and Luke didn’t have any room in the bed – sorry hubby, but I like to starfish when I sleep! After almost 9 years together, you’d think he would have realised that!

10.40am And it’s time for one of my favourite meals of the day BREAKFAST! And yes that meant porridge, because everyday starts with a bowl of steaming hot porridge, topped off with fruit.

11.30am – Its time for the long hot shower (bliss) followed by “time to make me look human so let’s grab some makeup” I’m never fully dressed without makeup. And even though today I have no plans, I still have to have lips and lashes to make me feel more human.

I have some free time before I get my nails done this afternoon, and whilst I have a list (long list) of things I need to do, I opt instead to chill with Hunter drinking tea! Lack of motivation much! I mean I could polish, vacuum, put on a load of washing even, but instead I’m going to play with Hunter, and drink tea! That’s just how I roll!!

2pm – After play and chill time, it’s time to get new nails, now normally I love getting new nails done, but today getting new nails means taking off my wedding nails. And that is just another reminder that my wedding is well and truly over (crying on the inside and out) Luckily my nail tech is my sister (also was my maid of honour) which means 2 hours of wedding chat and reminiscing about the best day of my life!

How cute are my new red nails, I love red nails and thought it was especially fitting for Valentine’s Day.

5pm – Means it’s dinner time, and dinner tonight was going to be amazing! Literally amazing! And that is because I ordered a Burger & Lobster DIY kit as part of Luke’s valentines present! B&L started doing these kits during lockdown and because they have been so popular they’ve never stopped doing them (YESSSS!) So that means I can get my Lobster roll fix whenever I want! I ordered a kit that included 4 cocktails as well as the 2 lobster rolls, and I also added on 2 portion of chips. The whole box cost me £54.85 not including delivery. And is honestly completely worth it!!

Delicious meal done, Luke and I then spent a good hour (could be a slight exaggeration, but whatever) flicking through Netflix, Amazon prime and sky trying to find something decent to watch for the evening. And I can confirm that there is absolutely NOTHING good to watch at the moment, so Luke settled on Ghostbusters afterlife, which was as boring as it sounds! I mean I have high hopes for married life so I’m hoping every weekend doesn’t end up like this one!

Still got to love a Saturday though right.
