Happy September!! And hello pretty Autumn, I am just so pleased to see you!!
I can’t tell you how excited I am to put away all those summer outfits (that I didn’t get to wear) and get out my warm autumn/winter wear, nothing pleases me more than layers, and jumpers and boots! Cute autumn wear is by far my favourite.
I admit I am glad to be saying goodbye to summer, it wasn’t quite all I thought it would be, so this year I am most definitely happy to see it go. Plus was it really even summer? I mean the weather was far from hot and sunny and for the most part I was in jeans and jumpers and still feeling cold, yes summer I am definitely done with you for this year at least.
September is usually such an amazing month for me personally as it’s the time I tend to head off on a lovely long 2 week trip to either somewhere fun like Florida, or somewhere beautiful like Seychelles. However the ever persistent pandemic has meant that 2020 and 2021 have seen me staying right here in Essex and not dipping my toes in the sea of some exotic location. Yes indeed it’s a pretty sad time, however, there is a silver lining this year which is more than I can say for last year! This year I have my engagement party, Luke has his stag do, I have my hen do, we have a mini weekend break planned and then something super fun in December (and I’m very excited for it) I’m sure we’ll manage to fit a few more things in before the end of the year, and before we say “I do” in January (FIVE MONTHS TIME)
As we approach the new season, I’ve decided that I’m going to be totally chill, and not let things or people bother me so much. I’m using this next phase of the year to not let others actions bother me, but I will also be taking a step back and not making as much effort with people who make no effort with me, it’s gotten so tiring over the the past year or so, to constantly be the one who tries with everyone. Autumn is all about me and the ones closest to me, it just makes so more sense.
I’m fully intending to embrace this gorgeous time of year, last Autumn was full of lockdowns and lots of unknowing, I am quietly hoping that this time round Autumn will be a little kinder and less stressful, and far more enjoyable. And I am also literally counting down to the first pumpkin spice latte/frappe of the year!!
So the 1st of September, is that too soon to be putting away the summer clothes and getting out the autumn/winter wear? Asking for a friend!
