It’s May, it’s a new month (okay we are actually part way through a new month) which means it’s definitely time for a post!! And not just any post, a BEAUTY post!!!! I haven’t done a beauty post in like FOREVER! And this is a good one (kind of) don’t say I never treat you to a good tip!

Okay so I discovered this (which may widely be well know but whatever) but I discovered this in December last year but it’s only now I’m finding the time to write up a post – better late than never!

Prepare to be amazed (or maybe that was just me who was amazed!)

PERFUME, we all know I love it! I mean buy me a perfume for my birthday or Christmas and I am one happy girl for sure! I especially love a perfume gift set, you know, where you get a body cream, a shower gel, or a mini perfume to compliment your chosen scent. What I really hate is when you get a mini perfume in rollerball form, seriously, who uses a rollerball these days! I find them so annoying! To be honest the rollerballs usually get thrown in a drawer and forgotten about, until that is I discovered this genius life hack (seriously I’m calling it a life hack!)

So I had zero idea (because I’ve never really looked at rollerball perfume closely enough) but I didn’t realise that you can ever so easily just pop the rollerball out of the perfume bottle (who knew? Everyone but me probably, but moving on) So once I had popped the ball top off I was like …. “Okay, I can use this!”

I got one of my empty atomisers (because who doesn’t own an atomiser or 5 now days …..) And unscrewed the top part and poured the rollerball mini perfume in to the atomiser, no spills or thrills, every last drop went straight in.

Honestly I was MIND BLOWN by this little trick! I have a drawer full of mini rollerball perfumes that I never use, and now I’m running low! Seriously you’re welcome, and you can thank me later . . (Laughing face emoji!!)

Tip no 2

I have one more tip to share with you today – and that is prolonging the life of your perfume. I know it sounds silly but perfume does go off, it discolours, and smells not quite right, and at that point it’s only fit for the bin. As someone who has close to 100 perfumes that I obviously can’t wear all at once, I need them to last as long as possible. So I have to be very careful with how I store them. I know perfumes look so pretty on dressers and some perfume bottles are just beautiful, however as soon as they are exposed to sunlight it can quickly degrade the fragrance. Heat also affects perfumes as it breaks down the chemical bonds that give a perfume its scent, so you’re expensive perfume won’t smell so pretty after a while!

The best way to keep perfume fresh for as long as possible is to hide it away — seriously. Dark, dry places are the best go-to’s for fragrance storage. The BEST tip for this is store them in the box they come in (so simple right!) Because I have a few too many I also keep a collection in a decorative dark box where no light gets in. And obviously store away from radiators!!

Well I hope you’ve found my mini beauty post helpful.

In today’s post I’m giving false lashes a BIG HUGE shout out! Because, honestly I’d be lost without them!

A good set of lashes now more than ever are pretty much a necessity, because when you spend your day wearing a mask your eyes are on show the most, so they need to stand out, and look good!!

I have been a lash fan since I purchased my very first pair of Cheryl Coles! I originally purchased a pair for a night out, and loved them so much I have literally been wearing them everyday since!

Lashes, be it strip or extensions are very important to me personally, I NEVER leave my house without lashes on, they make me feel complete and confident.

I love the lash extension look so much so that I am now a fully trained lash technician, however it is important to give those a break, which is wear good old strip lashes come in handy!!

Having had “extensive” experience in wearing many many different types of lashes, and believe me not all of them looked good, I’m here with my own guide to getting good false lashes!!

STEP 1 GLUE – A good glue is my MUST HAVE, girls I’m sure you can relate to this, but I have had so many mishaps where the glues I’ve used haven’t been strong enough and I’ve ended up with what I like to call “FLAPPY LASH” – Which for those of you who don’t know is where the corners of the lash start to lift and it just FLAPS!! Awkward beauty malfunction right there! SO you should never EVER compromise on the glue. It honestly doesn’t matter if the lashes were from the pound/dollar store or from MAC, I immediately bin the glue and turn to one of my go to products – EYLURE 18 hours glue priced at £5.50 or Duo £9.99 both available from ASOS, or any drug store (Boots/Superdrug)

STEP 2 LASHES – Okay so a good set of strip lashes will make your eyes stand out and look beautiful, but a cheap, tacky plastic looking pair of lash’s will draw attention to your eyes for all the wrong reasons! Likewise stupidly long spider leg lashes will also do you no favours, because to put it bluntly they look stupid!

I have worn every type of lash you can think of and I definitely look back on some of my old photos and cringe at how awful they looked! Thankfully I have come a long way since those days and I have most definitely upped my lash game (well I think so anyways!)

I like my lashes to match the event, so if it’s everyday work then Ardell Demi Wispies £5.50 are my go to lash as they look super natural and are super lightweight, and to be honest I usually forget I’m wearing them! Ardell as well as having a huge selection of natural lashes, also offer an equally huge selection of fuller lashes that are ideal for a night out, definitely a brand I trust.

For the evening or night out I like to go bigger (but not over the top) so for this my go to lashes are Tatti lashes. I love the Tatti range, they do such a huge variety of lashes, from natural looking to the full on “look I’ve arrived” lashes. And they always look nice, and I find people really comment on them.

STEP 3 Application – Applying lashes is an art that I have mastered over the years, and can now apply my strip lashes without a mirror if needs be!

Successful application of strip lashes requires just 3 things – Lashes (obviously) good glue and tweezers/or lash applicator.

TIP 1– Don’t forget when removing lashes from the Trey always peel them from the inner corner and not the outer edge. This is because if you bend one section of lashes on the inside it doesn’t matter as it’s more than likely you’ll be trimming them off to fit your eyes anyway. I always trim from the inside as I don’t want to affect the fan in the outer corners, although other blogs will tell you to do it the other way (ie outside, to in) I guess it’s all down to personal preference.

Once your lashes are the right length, simply rest the strip along the lash line. The strip should start where your natural bulk of eyelashes begin, if you start too close to the inner corner it will irritate your eyes, and trust me, that hurts, and will cause your eyes to water.

Put a thin layer of glue along the top of the lash extension from corner to corner. Wait a few seconds for it to go tacky before applying.

Place the lash back on the lash line, and press firmly in place, I always use tweezers or lash applicator to secure the inner corner, as that is the tricky part!

TIP 2– If you want super long-lasting application you can do the ‘double adhesive’ technique by applying a thin line of glue along your lash line as well as on the lashes. My advice is to BE CAREFUL that you don’t get the glue on the lashes otherwise they will clump together, and that is never a good look!

And there you go, my very quick guide & easy guide to false lashes! Hope you’ve enjoyed my beauty post for today, don’t forget to check out my other beauty posts at lifestylelisa.com

Have a great weekend everyone.

FAVOURITE POST TIME ALERT!!

I have decided its time to once again talk about perfume!

I love these kinds of posts because I am completely passionate about perfumes, both high end designer and celebrity scents.

Since my last perfume post over a year ago in June 2019 https://lifestylelisa.com/2019/06/26/top-5-luxury-perfumes/ I have added to my luxury perfume collection and have decided to share my new favourites with you!

As always my list in in no particular order whatsoever as I would find it impossible to rank these gorgeous new additions to my ever growing collection.

  1. Twilly d’Hermes by Hermes £130 (100ml) – This perfume right here is EVERYTHING. I adore it and get so many compliments when I wear it. With notes of ginger and sensual tuberose it’s a floral yet spicy and oriental Eau de Parfum. A must have for any perfume enthusiast, and the bottle……..it’s just a whole new level of sophistication.
  2. Donna Born in Roma by Valentino £110 (100ml) – I discovered this perfume on a hot and humid night at Disney Springs Florida back in 2019. I had popped into Sephora to pick up a few bits and obviously I cannot resist a quick spritz of a tester whilst shopping around! I am a huge fan of the original Donna by Valentino so decided to try Born in Roma. Well I think I passed Sephora 3 times on my Disney Springs shopping trip and kept popping in just for a quick top up! This scent is GORGEOUS! It’s a  feminine and modern “floriental” fragrance with notes of  Jasmine and Vanilla Bourbon which I believe is one of the most expensive extracts in the world!
  3. Rose Excelsa by Dolce & Gabbana £87 (75ml) – Anyone who knows me will know my love for Rose scented things, from candles to body lotion to perfumes. Finding Rose Excelsa by pure chance on a shopping trip to John Lewis was a good find indeed! It’s a timeless romantic scent  with top notes of Papaya Flower and Neroli Leaves, with blends of Amaryllis and White Water Lily as well as African Dog Rose and Turkish Rose.  The bottle is equally as beautiful, frosted glass with a red rose top.

  4. Jasmin Noir by Bvlgari £156 (100ml) – Beautiful and elegant, Splendida Jasmin Noir is a delicate scent, perfect for a summers evening. A fan of many Bvlgari scents but this one in particular is a favourite and no collection is complete without it. img_8366
  5. Velvet Teddy by Mac £35 (50ml) – Okay so this final one isn’t necessarily a luxury perfume, nor is it a celebrity one but I HAD to add it to my list because quite simply I LOVE THIS PERFUME! It’s got this most AMAZING heavy Oud scent that I adore, it lasts FOREVER meaning there is no need to top up at any point. I think this scent smells expensive even though it isn’t. It’s mystical and reminds me of the beautiful far east. I love it so much I have 2 unopened bottles in addition to the bottle I am currently using. A must have!

I could go on all day when it comes to perfumes but I’ll leave it here for now, I have lots more to share which I’ll do in another perfume post.

Skin Care Routine https://lifestylelisa.com/2020/06/17/skin-care-routine/ Wed, 17 Jun 2020 13:44:25 +0000 https://lifestylelisa.com/?p=10615 “Taking care of your skin, is more important than covering it up”

“Taking care of your skin is more important than covering it up” That’s a quote I once read in a magazine, and isn’t it just the truth! I mean you can put as much foundation on as you want, but it’s what’s underneath – the blank canvas – that’s really important.

My skin has always been so important to me, and even on my drunkest nights out I somehow remembered to take off my makeup before I slipped into a drunken state of unconsciousness. The main reason for always taking off my makeup is because I have a spot phobia, I’m not not even sure technically if that’s a thing, but if it is I definitely have it! Pathetic as it is, getting a spot or blemish is pretty much the end world for me. I can’t apologise for being so petty about something so small and trivial it’s just who I am.

I love makeup and wear it pretty much everyday, it makes me feel more confident, and trust me when I say I look much better with makeup on! Although right now I am sat here writing this makeup free (apart from lashes because a girl is never complete without lashes!) but since the sun has come out I have enjoyed having bare skin (yes I am wearing an SPF of course!) but I’m letting nature do it’s thing and bring out my freckles! But that’s kind of the beauty of lockdown no where to go and no one to see!

In order to keep outbreaks under control and keep my skin refreshed and healthy(ish) I have ALWAYS religiously stuck to a morning and nighttime cleansing ritual, it’s important to make time for yourself because no matter how much I love putting makeup on, taking it all off is far more satisfying.

Morning & Evening cleansing routine

1. Splashing my face with cold water to get the blood circulating (mornings only) For some reason I do this 10 times in the morning, and I have done for years! It feels good and wakes you up too!!

2. Cleansing – I love giving my skin both a good morning and nighttime cleanse. In the mornings it makes my skin feel awake and revived and in the evenings I love getting off the dirt and grime that has settled on my skin throughout the day. I am currently using The skin D Luxe facial cleanser by Fake Bake £15. It’s a wash off cleanser that I leave on for about 5 minutes before rinsing with a bamboo cloth and warm water.

3. Tone – A good toner will remove any remaining bits of oil, dirt and debris left behind by the cleanser. More importantly, toner will help soothe, nourish and hydrate your skin. I use Skin D Luxe radiant reveal face toner by Fake Bake £10. This is a great product as it balances and controls shine, due to its oil reducing ingredients, it also softens skin for a brighter more radiant complexion.

3. Moisturise – Who doesn’t love freshly moisturised skin? Applying moisturiser to the face after cleansing and toning gives it healthy sheen, and keeps it hydrated and healthy. In the mornings I use Skin Feast by Tropic Skincare £24. This product not only gives my skin a really nice healthy glow, but also smells absolutely delicious! For the evenings however I prefer something thicker and use Firming sleeping cream by Sephora $15

5. Spot Treatment – Okay I am lucky enough to have relatively clear skin apart from the odd little outbreak here and there, but in the event I do get an outbreak I have ONE product and ONE product only that I SWEAR by – Origins Super Spot RemoverBlemish Treatment Gel! I have tried many many different spot treatments over the years and this one beats them all! Just dab a a little of the gel on the blemish and LITERALLY FEEL the Salicylic Acid instantly start to tingle! You can actually feel it working! At a cost of £16 it’s well worth it and I wouldn’t be without it!

I also include in the mix of the cleansing routine a weekly face mask and of course in the summer some sun screen – it’s an essential!

If we’re honest with ourselves, we are all a little guilty of using some kind of photo editing app at some point. Even if you no longer use it, you most probably have edited a few photos at some stage.

I CONFESS I was a HUGE insta filter and filter fan for quite sometime, up until the point where Luke actually pointed out that he looked pretty fake in some of our Sunday selfies due to the amount of filter applied….. ooops! GUILTY!

As a blogger I love sharing content and photos and whilst I like all photos to be true to life I do like a little tweak here and there. A splash more colour ,or a sharper outline there’s nothing wrong with cleaning up a good photo.

But how far is too far when downloading apps to edit photos?

Whilst browsing in the App Store recently I came across an app called photo editor make up camera which instantly stood out to me, because of the words which read “changing your figure makes you more sexy

Whilst I’m all for a bit of tweaking here and there, it’s pretty wrong to advertise an app that actually states that changing your figure makes your feel sexy – IE the slimmer you are the sexier you are.

Because the app is free to download I decided check it out!

So as I mentioned this is a free app – and as it clearly states changing your figure makes you more sexy and beautiful.

This app not only makes you slimmer, and makes you taller, it also gives you boobs, makes your face thinner and your forehead, as well as retouching your face to make it smoother.

I decided of to have a go at editing some of my photos! This app is free and is available to millions of teenagers, many of who are already obsessed with appearances and the pressures of looking good.

App downloaded I decided to use 3 different photos to change the appearances of myself. 2 photos at from Florida 2019 and 1 random selfie from the beginning of this year. The pictures on the left are originals the pictures on the right are photoshopped. I haven’t gone OTT with the editing and tried to keep it as realistic as possible.

So here we go, first photo is me at Epcot 2019, untouched photo on the left, but on the right I have made my waist smaller, boobs bigger and I am taller!!

2nd photo is my bikini photo (cringe) but anyways, smaller waist, slimmer thighs, bigger boobs AND taller And finally I am using the facial photoshop app for my final photo! Which quite frankly just makes me look plain weird! Very smooth features, and very unnatural looking!!This one I let it do the retouch for me, as it kind of decided what I needed. So I didn’t interfere and try and change it in anyway.

The thing that really gets me is not only does excessive use of Photoshop photos send out a poor message, but it also can cause low self-esteem and body image issues.

I’m pretty honest and open in my blogs that I have suffered with weight issues, and have for many years seen myself as fat and chubby, even after loosing weight I still sometimes revert back to seeing myself as bigger, I am my biggest critique.

Looking at the photos of course I prefer having bigger boobs, and being taller, and I would love to have a slimmer waistline but the photos are not a true reflection of who I am.

I am only 5ft, I have always had big thighs and I have hips too!

There is nothing wrong with photoshopping images as I said before, making an image look sharper or enhancing colour, but I think you have to know where to draw the line. And the line should be drawn at giving yourself bigger boobs and making yourself slimmer and changing your appearance so its not a true resemblance of you. Being skinny does not make you look more sexy.

Be confident in your own skin, and love you, it’s who you are!

I have days where I feel completely ugly and fat and days where I feel good about myself, just take the rough with smooth and roll with it.

I can imagine that most of you like myself are currently doing the whole wash hands, dry hands, sanitise hands, moisturise hands REPEAT! And whilst hygiene has always been very important to me, I’ve never washed my hands quite as much as I do currently. I mean I walk in from standing out in the garden with Hunter WASH HANDS, I touch a letter that has been posted through the door WASH HANDS, I walk outside to get something from my car WASH HANDS, I move the bin back to its resting place WASH HANDS! I mean it’s pretty relentless, and to be honest when I’m not washing hands I’m using my sanitising hand gel. No I’m not always this meticulous, yes I always carry hand sanitiser, and yes I hate touching public doors, and yes I do keep my hands clean, but living through the current pandemic – Covid-19 has heightened everything.

My hands these past few weeks have taken a beating, they are so soar, and itchy, they have even woken me up in the early hours as they were driving me mad itching! Most hand creams I had been using were only moisturising them for a while, then it was soon back to cracked, ugly red, soar hands – time to up my game.

I have 3 beauty products that to be honest I am swearing by right now for relief of the dry hands situation, and the good news is I’m going to share them with you. So here is a mini beauty blog post for a Monday afternoon.

  1. The Ritual of Dao by Rituals night balm for hands £9.90 – This wonderful smelling hand balm has been specially developed to soothe and soften the skin. Dry hands are transformed thanks to the ingredient Shea Butter. The Night Balm combines the mild aroma of White Lotus with the skin-soothing qualities of Yi Yi Ren, used in traditional Chinese medicine. Suitable for sensitive skin, and vegans. I use this product every night and I honestly notice the biggest difference with my hands.
  2. Tamanu healing Balm by Tropic skin care £16 – I have spoken about this product before because it really is a must have for me! It’s multipurpose and can be used on dry skin, eczema, and even stings and bites! I even love the curry paste smell it has.
  3. Melty Talented by Soap and Glory £5 – This multi use balm is great for dry lips, nails, hair tips, hands, anywhere where you get dry skin! It has a lovely coconut fragrance, and the formula melts into oil on contact, soaking in to leave your skin nice and smooth.

Three great products that don’t cost the earth but certainly do the job!

AUTUMN & WINTER My favourite seasons of them all. I am fully embracing this season with warm and cute clothing and the red lips and nails are out in full force!

Of course this time of year does have a few set backs (dark nights aside) I mean things like dry hands and chapped lips, and dry skin in general! Every girls beauty nightmare right!

I must admit I’m not a girl who sticks to one particular beauty brand, I do like to shop around and try lots of different products, and then decide what works best for me.

Because I am a girl who loves different beauty products I thought I’d share with you what beauty lifesavers I am using this season, as well as some of my favourite beauty essentials.

Lip Love Balm by Tropic Skin Care £5.00 – This super multi purpose lip balm helps to replenish dry and cracked skin, whether on your lips, cuticles, elbows or heels. A real multi-purpose handbag hero. I use this religiously, it came to Florida with me and was amazing at keeping my lips moisturised on the 9 hour plane journey.

Tamanu Healing Balm by Tropic Skin Care £16.00 (20ml) – This multipurpose, nourishing green balm that smells a little bit like curry paste is a skincare hero. Enhanced with antioxidant-rich ingredients, it helps to repair scarred and damaged skin, improves the appearance of stretch marks, and soothes dry skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, as well as stings and bug bites. Tried and tested, it’s a winner for me!

Vitamin Toner Pore Refining Mist by Tropic Skin Care £14.00 – Refining the appearance of pores with this pH-balancing toner I find that it gives my skin a brighter, smoother complexion. This is a must-have addition to my daily skincare routine.

Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter by The Body Shop £10.00 – What a gem this product is, it removes every last little spec of make up without drying out my skin and making it feel tight. It’s great for sensitive skin, which mine seems to be lately. And it really does leave my face feeling smooth and soft.

Vitamin C Skin Reviver by The Body Shop £17.00 – I have been using this product for so long now that it’s hard to imagine life without it! I use this to give my skin a healthy looking glow, if I’m on holiday I use it on its own, or back here because it’s currently very cold UK I use after moisturising to combat the dull, tired complexion. It’s also a great make up primer too! Multipurpose little winner!

Overnight Firming Cream by Sephora $38.00 Yes I know this one is hard to get hold of for any UK resident, but I just had to add it to the list!!Formulated with 95% natural origin ingredients, the firming sleeping cream from Sephora collection nourishes, softens and protects skin. It has a thick, rich and pleasant texture and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy.

All day hydrator moisturiser by Sephora $15.00 – Final Sephora one I promise!! This little gem of a day cream contains hyaluronic acid and vitamins C and E. It moisturizes, brings radiance and protects your skin from environmental stress . Really great for everyday use because it gives the skin the substances it needs to maintain its natural glow, whilst acting as a protective shield thanks to its cocktail of antioxidants. Its ultra-lightweight, texture makes it an excellent makeup primer.

Because it’s the holly jolly Christmas season, I am all about the colour RED! Red lips and red nails are of course my must haves for the holiday season, and because I get a new colour on my nails every 2 weeks, I pretty much work my way through all the reds that my nail technician has!

Red lipsticks and lipglosses are also a winter essential as from October to March that is the only colour I will wear! . So here are a few Of my personal favourites.

The body shop do some lovely colours and if it’s a good lipstick that in after then Rimmel or good old MUA work for me

And finally never leave the house without antibacterial hand gel and hand cream!!

I am always after some new winter beauty product must haves, so share away if there is anything that I should add to my list!

Enjoy the rest of your Christmas Eve – Eve

Hi everyone, and of course wishing you all the happiest of Fridays! This weekend couldn’t have come quick enough, I am looking forward to 2 extremely chilled out days at home after a tiring 2 weeks!

Yes I know, 2 weeks absent from lifestylelisa! Well I am still very much here, but my god what a 2 weeks it’s been!

I hate it when lifestylelisa takes a back seat, and sometimes it’s just unfortunate and life gets so crazy that it just has too, but this was the not the occasion this time round! The last 2 weeks haven’t been the best for me (violins at the ready please)

So I thought I’d share the low down of my absent 2 weeks with you!

1. Eye infection! Oh yes that was fun, a puffy red eye that resulted in my eyelash extensions having to be taken out. And because infection had set in I had to take them out myself! Firstly YES I clean my lashes regularly as I’ve had lash extensions so many times I’m a pro at looking after them, so honestly I don’t know how I got the attractive puff eye! Secondly guys olive oil is the ONLY way to remove lashes if you need to do so pretty quickly! Mind you it still took me about an hour, but at least at the end of it I still had all my own natural lashes!

2. Wisdom tooth (possible infection) So last Thursday my left wisdom tooth started pushing through again (it’s like I’m teething!) and it’s always SO painful when it does that! But what’s worse is instead of coming through I had this painful lump on the gum to the side of the tooth (sorry if it’s a bit TMI) But its been super uncomfortable and really painful at times!

3. Broken iPhone! YES BROKEN PHONE! And you know what, I have a great laptop at home but my phone is everything when I am out and about snapping photos or writing on the go! So being without it wasn’t an option! It was actually working fine, then on Sunday it just gave up, it reset itself and never switched back on, I mean you’ve got to be kidding me right! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING NOW! Well it just so happened I was on my way into town last Sunday so took it straight into the shop and £96 early upgrade fee later, I’ve walked out with a brand new working phone! RELIEF!

4. Feeling so poorly! So the worst thing on my list is the fact that I have been feeling so poorly lately! It started last Saturday when I started to think I might be coming down with something, then Sunday I woke up feeling not great (broken phone did not help!) Then Monday and Tuesday I “hit the deck” as I refer to it. Which means it just knocked me right out, and I was off sick from work for 2 days, curled up on the sofa crying into my uneaten bowl of porridge! Yes I was a pathetic mess, and I looked disgusting, like honestly disgusting! I was pale, no lashes, wearing my checked oversized tinker bell PJ’s hadn’t washed my hair, I mean I was a mess! The thing is, is that I’m actually not a sick person and haven’t even (touch wood) had a cold this year! The last time I was ill was last September when I reacted to the Typhoid, Hepatitis, and whatever else was injected into me before I travelled to Seychelles, but other than that I am (I think) relatively healthy. But when I do get something it just completely knocks me off of my feet for a few days, and I hate it! I have gradually started to feel a little bit better, and think it was all to do with my infected tooth, which in turn played havoc with my ears and hearing and made me feel generally unwell. Today is the first day that I have so far felt fine….. do not want to jinx that though. But the thought of picking up my phone and writing a post just wasn’t an option, even looking at my phone made me feel unwell!!

BUT I am back now! Feeling more like my normal self, so guys as always THANK YOU for sticking with me.

Have a great weekend everyone ??

Having written a well received post about my top 5 luxury perfumes, which you can read here ?? https://lifestylelisa.com/2019/06/26/top-5-luxury-perfumes/ I thought it seemed only right that the next post should be about my top 5 affordable perfumes.

Perfumes shouldn’t just be a luxury accessory that you wear on a night out, you should be able and want to smell nice all day everyday! But let’s be honest would I fancy wearing Chanel or Valentino to work? Definitely not! That’s where the celebrity collection’s come in handy.

I think celebrity perfumes are often overlooked by many who think they are cheap and nasty. Whilst true that they are a considerable amount cheaper than the luxury brands they definitely shouldn’t be pushed to the side and forgotten about.

I have a nice selection of celebrity perfumes that I wear specifically for work during the day, I wouldn’t dream of wearing them during the evening, or to some sophisticated event, but all the same they smell really good and they all do come at a very reasonable price.

Shopping around is the key when purchasing any of the below (or a celebrity fragrance in general) ideally £20 is the most I really want to pay for a 100ml bottle, anything above that and I may as well by a bottle of Gucci, so always check for the offers! Superdrug and Savers here in the UK nearly always have these on offer.

So let’s get on with the list!

1. Kim Kardashian by Kim Kardashian – This perfume was released back in 2009! ERM how is it that like TEN years ago? Anyways this perfume is priced at around £20 (100ml) the scent is quite heavy and has a kind of Oud smell to it (which I love) for £20 it really stays on all day, and it’s one of my favourite affordable perfumes!

2. Fantasy by Brittany Spears – I will probably group my favourite fantasy’s together, because I am a fan of all of them!! So in no particular order, Midnight Fantasy, Hidden fantasy and Intimate Fantasy. These are the ones in my perfume collection that I have been wearing them for a number of years and at around the £20 mark for 100ml you just can’t go wrong. These are a perfect day time perfume that needs very little topping up and gets you plenty of compliments. The pink one is probably my favourite HOWEVER it’s VERY sweet, so if sweet isn’t your think try the Hidden or Intimate. The Midnight Fantasy I think smells like blueberries.

3. Beyoncé – With a moderate 10 perfumes in her collection, Beyoncé’s earliest edition was created in 2010 and the latest in 2017. Out of the ones I have added to my collection over the years I can certainly recommend Heat Rush, Midnight Heat, Heat Wild Orchard and Pulse. You can usually pick these up from £15

4. Versace Red Jeans – Perhaps one of my favourites on this list and certainly one of the most underrated fragrances. Red Jeans was released in 1994! But that doesn’t means it’s old fashioned, and shouldn’t be worn! This fragrance is fruity and floral, described as sweet and casual, and it smells FAB! I get plenty of compliments and it’s a distinctive smell that you can really smell all day. And as for the price, well you can pick this up from around £10…. hello bargain!!

5. Rose by Paul Smith – Launched back in 2007, this is a light and floral perfume, that compliments a summers day (I think). It’s not too overpowering and after a while the initial spray turns into a more powdery scent. Definitely one of my favourites and can be picked up from around £15

As always I am always on the look out for more new perfumes to try, so you know the drill, drop me a comment below on any you like and think I should try.
